Deciding to get married is a major life decision. After your wedding day, your life as you know it will be changed forever. So it is no wonder that couples put a great deal of time, money, and effort to make sure that the first day of their new life together is truly epic. Yes, you will need to pick a location, date, and budget (the big three), but after those are locked down, it is time to settle on an overall wedding style. Your wedding venue and wedding gown will absolutely dictate your wedding style. Then your color scheme will come into play when selecting flowers, decor, and other vendor options.
There are dozens of styles that you can choose from and you can even incorporate multiple styles into your big day. Today we are focusing on the, always fabulous, Bohemian wedding style. A Boho bride steps off the beaten path of traditional wedding styles and into earthy and muted tones that represent her free spirit. By using a combination of old and new decor, fluid and ethereal gowns, and natural textures this nomad style brings unique details to your big day.
ALL ABOUT THE BOHEMIAN WEDDING STYLE
Venue. For the backdrop of your Boho wedding, choose a venue that has historical character like exposed brick or shiplap walls. Anything outdoors in nature is also a great option, whether desert, mountain, or forest landscaping. Avoid ultra modern and contemporary venue designs.
Dress. Naturally flowing materials with floral prints or lace typically adorn Boho brides. A more laid-back style allows very creative accessories like hats or flower crowns. Sleeves are another boho gown staple.
Color Palette. Neutral and Dusty Hues typically accompany a Bohemian wedding style. Warm tones accentuate the style. Think rust, pale gold, dusty pink, and terracotta colors. You are obviously not limited to these colors, but stay with the more muted, dusty colors.
Decor/Design. Boho style is all about incorporating chic neutrals and free spirited, casual vibes. Consider dried florals and interesting succulents in your floral design. Your ceremony backdrop should bring in the natural element with macrame, wooden backdrops, or even pampas grass installations. Candlelight can add a romantic dimension to your reception as well.
