Once the last dance has been danced and your guests are lined up for an epic send off, the last fun feature of your wedding day is the getaway ride into your new future. With so many unique wedding day getaway car options to choose from, couples are becoming more and more creative with their send off transportation. Based on your style and personal taste, your getaway car is the last image your guests will see of you beginning the adventure of married life, so take some time to consider your options. We have listed a few interesting modes of transportation fo your consideration!

Ideas for the Perfect Wedding Day Getaway Car

Limo. Classic and timeless, you can never go wrong with a limo. There is plenty of room to stretch your legs and enjoy a glass of champagne on your way out. With a variety of colors and styles, make the most of the rental and take the long way home.

Uber/Lyft. If your getaway car needs to be only practical and affordable, a car service is always a good idea. Be sure to plan accordingly so you don’t have any late fees. This is obviously a newer trend, but one that has been very convenient for couples and their wallets.

Convertible. Any vehicle where you can put the top down, sit up top, and wave your guests goodbye is a win. Old or new, VW Bug or Truck bed, this is a fun option with great photo ops.

Vintage Car. Speaking of classics, why not go with an epic original and take a vintage car. Cars such as Rolls Royces and convertible Camaros are always fun. Match your vintage car with your wedding style.

Horse + Carriage. Finish your fairy tale wedding off with a carriage ride. Check with the city to confirm, but many places allow for a horse drawn carriage to drive certain streets.

Motorcycle/Moped. The night is over, so no need to worry about helmet hair! Jump on your bike with your cool rider and head off into the sunset.

Bicycle Built for Two. Consider the other two wheel transportation and bicycle away. Great for brunch weddings and cycling couples. Park a car around the corner for an easier escape if your hotel is far.

Chalk it up. Go “old school” and use your personal vehicle, but let your wedding party decorate your car with chalk paint, streamers, and cans.

Firetruck. That’s right! Drive off with sirens blazing. A popular choice for first responder couples.

Helicopter. Take it all the way to the next level and head off into the night in a helicopter. As long as you have the budget and they have room to land, this is an epic option that your guests will talk about for years to come.

Whatever path you take for your getaway transportation, make sure it fits your individual taste. As you sit together, alone at last, you can reminisce about the joys of the day. Happy trails!
