Weddings in the era of coronavirus have been interesting to say the least. Social distancing, small guest counts, sanitizing stations….the list goes on. We all assume that some of these policies will become commonplace in the future and rightfully so. Which brings us to wearing face masks. This life saving accessory does not have to be the downfall of your wedding day. If you are moving forward with your wedding during COVID19, then along with several other precautions, face masks should be worn. If your state is requiring face masks to be worn, here are some ideas, tips, and points to remember for your wedding day.

Incorporating Face Masks Into Your Wedding

TIP 1: Whether you wear a mask down the aisle or not is your business, but maybe now is the time to pick up a lovely veil. Make sure that your aisle is wide enough that you are separate from guests. And there are many cute bridal face masks out there!

TIP 2: This is obvious, but you can get some cute monogrammed masks for your guest to wear. Have the groom’s friends and family wear one color and the bride’s another.

TIP 3: Your photos will not be ruined. Let your photographer get creative with how to take group photos by utilizing a large space and the depth of the photo. Photoshop is the bomb too, so don’t rule out everything. As long as you are at a safe distance, clever and beautiful photos can be captured.

TIP 4: Have a masquerade themed wedding reception. Having guests embrace the mask and adorn their face coverings in a fun way.

TIP 5: Have a competition among guests on best face mask by having themes to win prizes for ‘best mask” or “funniest mask”. Or even a mask showing how that person knows the bride and/or groom.

The new accessory of 2020 should not ruin your wedding day! The most important thing is to celebrate your love with your closest family and friends at a safe distance. Embrace the face mask and make your wedding day as memorable as possible. Happy planning!
