With weddings on hold for the time being, you might be out there visiting blogs and flipping through bridal magazines looking for new inspiration or advice from pros. As you are perusing other’s bridal bliss and dreaming of your own day, start considering sharing your wedding someday. There are several blogs and magazines out there looking for stunning real weddings with great vendors and moving stories. Even if your wedding has already passed, if you are moved to share and feel like your wedding is inspirational, put it out there! We’re sharing 5 perks of publishing your wedding!
On occasion, someone on your vendor team may even suggest that you try for a publication. Most of the time, that vendor will put in the work of submitting the wedding for you. Publications are a great way to show off you and your vendors hard work!
ONE. Support your vendors: Getting published promotes their business and their skills, as well as boosts their search engine optimization. In this industry, being published on a blog or in a magazine is a badge of honor. A publication gives more validity to your vendors and increases their reach.
TWO. Inspire new brides: You put in hundreds of hours of planning into your wedding day, so why not show off all that hard work?! At very least, inspire others with your decor decisions and special moments.
THREE. Share your story: Do you have a wonderful love story worthy of the movies? Share it with the world. Who doesn’t love a good romantic story of finding forever with a special someone?
FOUR. Share your knowledge: Along with inspiring brides through your photos and moving them with your story, share what you learned! We all know the detail that goes into the wedding day. Share your insight and advice with engaged couples out there.
FIVE. Relive the moment: Having your wedding day memorialized is a fun and unique way to share with your friends and family. Plus, it is a great keepsake to show your future generations.
Speak with your planner, designer, and/or photographer on what publications they would recommend. Know that some submissions are lengthy and detailed and they will require several photos. Again, your vendor team will most likely be able to help. Each publication may also have different requirements, so don’t be upset if your first choice passed on your submission – there are dozens out there looking for something uniquely you! Submit to IVORY+ink for either an Inspiration post or Weddings Unveiled where we go behind the scenes of your wedding day.
