Now that autumn is upon us, we are embracing the cooler weather and looking forward to the pumpkin spice season! In some areas of the nation, Fall is THE time of year to get married. The changing of colors and daylight savings time adjust the overall style of most wedding designs for this season. Having an overall Fall style to your wedding means you can incorporate some special touches for the season. Here are some tips and trends to look for this autumn.
TIP 1. Cooler weather means warmer color tones. Consider rust, wheat, maroon, and other deeper tones. This does not mean that your color palette is limited, but instead of bright, vibrant colors opt for the muted, dusty shades of those same colors.
TIP 2. Florals take on a duskier tone as well. A trend that we will still see this Fall will be the incorporation of dried florals & foliage (think pampas grass & dried ferns & palms). These options make for a stunning addition to table arrangements and ceremony backdrops.
TIP 3. With the sun setting early in the evening, be prepared to adjust your timeline, especially if you are hoping for sunset photos. Many couples, during this time of year, opt for a first look moment so they can capture the magic hour of light. The ceremony will follow when it is a little darker outside. Consider some an epic candlelight to set a romantic, moody tone for your ceremony and reception.
TIP 4. Dress style allows for some great options for the cooler weather as well. Sleeves, although lovely anytime of year, work best in the fall and winter months. Unique accessories like capes, fur stoles, and gloves can add to your look as well.
Fall is one of the loveliest times of the year to get married. If your nuptials fall in the Fall, consider adding some of these autumn touches to your big day. Happy Planning!
