Time and again couples opt out of videography at their wedding. They believe that photos and memories will be enough and do not want to invest in a video of the day. We are here to tell you that not hiring a wedding videographer is the biggest regret of most couples. We have collected some advice from professional videographers to share some key reasons why capturing the moments with video is so worth it!
FROM THE TEAM OF:SILVER BEAR CREATIVE
We say video gives more of a sensory reaction, more so than photo. A photo is beautiful and can make you remember how you felt and what you looked like. But video gives you more…you can hear your loved ones’ voices and their laughter. See their dance moves. Feel the emotion. Video is more tangible and while some people think they won’t ever watch it again, most of our couples say they watch it way more than they thought they would. It’s also something cool to show your kids one day.
1. Photos capture moments, but video allows you to relive those moments.
2. Audio: being able to capture vows, letters, speeches that you’ll want to re-watch.
3. We get those moments the couples don’t see.
4. Memories of loved ones that pass away.
5. The edit: feel like a movie star.
If you trust your videographer and their direction, you’ll feel like a movie star on your big day and you’ll be blown away by the end product. We hear that a lot. “I can’t believe that’s me! We look so happy!”
FROM THE TEAM OF: TAKE 4 FILMS
The number one reason to have a wedding filmmaker is to document your wedding day. We have heard countless times from clients how much they wished they had a copy of their parents wedding film! It is the number one reason that couple’s book a videographer. Do you want to remember what you said in your vows? Or the fun reception? Or even the unexpected things that went wrong? Then hire a videographer.
With that said, make sure that you choose a wedding filmmaker with an eye to telling a story and not just one who documents the day in a candid way. A wedding storyteller will get to the heart of the bride and groom’s backstory and will focus on capturing images and audio to help tell that story. A good wedding filmmaker will put a lot of time and effort into knowing the couple’s story before any footage is captured.
To us, that is the number one reason. Other reasons to have a wedding videographer are:
1. It will enhance your memories of the wedding day and it will be a reminder of the love and happiness you felt.
2. The wedding day will go by so quickly! A wedding filmmaker will capture details and moments that you will miss.
3. It will be a way for loved ones who couldn’t attend the wedding to experience it.
4. It will be a keepsake for your family and kids
5. It will be fun to watch!
6. A professional wedding filmmaker will give a unique perspective of your wedding day
7. A wedding video is a way to express yourself creatively.
FROM THE TEAM OF: TURQUOISE VIDEO
It’s like having a little documentary of your wedding day, preserved for a lifetime so you, your spouse, all your parents, and your friends can enjoy or as long as Vimeo and cloud storage work in our constantly changing world of technology (we offer all sorts of video delivery). And now we can even live stream, so if family and guests can’t be there in person, they can feel like they are part of your celebration! This is a specially wonderful feature in the midst of a pandemic when all your family and friends may not be able to attend. We’re so lucky to live in an age where you can easily and affordably book a professional videographer to document your wedding day for future generations to watch. I wish I could see my grandparents’ and my parents’ wedding video (if that existed then), wouldn’t you? So if you have a small budget or unlimited funds, book a videographer, you won’t regret it; just ask those brides who didn’t book a videographer and see what they say.
Happy Planning!
